Chelsea Pipino is a visual artist who works across photography, film, and other forms of digital media in her practice. Born in Pennsylvania to a conservative, Catholic family in 2004, her work explores themes of escapism, mania, and femme experience, often forming around questions of desire, identity, as well as the tension between fantasy and reality.

Inspired by her own background, her work is heavily influenced by the historical minimization and disregard for women’s mental and physical health. Women’s health has long been overlooked, resulting in the instability of identity being exploited. Pipino examines both the personal and collective impact of this neglect on women and femme identities today, grounding these ideas in subjective, emotionally driven narratives inspired by objective observations.

She is currently based in Chicago, Illinois, where she studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and is on track to receive her BFA in 2027.
